February in the Canton of Sudentorre

We are the local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism for Caroline County, King George County, Spotsylvania County, Stafford County, and Fredericksburg. Our parent group which covers most of Northern Virginia is the Barony of Stierbach, which is part of the Kingdom of Atlantia. Come join us for some fun medieval activities in the month of February!

Martial Practices

Armored rattan fighter practice takes place every Wednesday, weather permitting, from 6:30-9:00pm at 26 Richland Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22406. Contact Thorgrimr Kraka for more information: thorgrimrsca@gmail.com

Fencing practice has resumed on the University of Mary Washington campus in the Goolrick Fitness Center Auxiliary Gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-10pm. This is a teaching practice, so newcomers are welcome and there is loaner gear available! Please contact Aylisia de Oliveri (april@moonlitoak.net) with questions.

Business Meeting

We are meeting, as usual, on the Third Tuesday of the month at the Fredericksburg Library. Google Meet will be available for those who cannot come in person: https://meet.google.com/mdr-yntv-pqn. There is a slight change this month, as we are meeting at 6:30pm in Meeting Room 2.

Your friendly local dance teacher will be running dance at our neighbor’s lovely Celebration de Medici event on February 17th in Ashland Virginia. Come join me for a day of mid-15th century fun.

Next month we will be hosting our Defending the Gate event! Please come join us as we retake the city of Otranto and elevate our new Baronage.

There are no dance practices here for the months of February and March as we were unable to secure the space. See you on April 23 for dance!
