It’s March, that means it’s time for…

Defending the Gate

Defending the Gate is coming up on March 25th. This year the event is themed around the battle of Agincourt. It should be a good time – come join us! There will be marshalled activities, dancing, delicious lunch and feast food, and arts & science. (Please be aware that the site does have an active apiary and take appropriate precautions if you have a bee-sting allergy.)

We are still looking for some event staff – please contact the Event Steward, Baron Dunstan of Stonehill (Donald.e.sutton@gmail.com), if you would like to help. Lady Valla-Ragna in Spakka particularly needs help with Gate from 8am – noon – please email scsanders@gmail.com.

Baroness Cynthia has issued an arts & sciences challenge – please bring bee or Agincourt themed items – and she will pick her choice to award a prize!

Practices / Activities in March

Business Meeting

We will have our business meeting for the month on March 18th at 7pm. We will be discussing plans for Defending the Gate! Please join us at this Google Meet link: https://meet.google.com/mdr-yntv-pqn

Rapier

Fencing practice has returned to the auxiliary gym at the university of Mary Washington. We will be meeting from 8 to 10 PM every Tuesday and Thursday. Armored Fighting

Stierbach Official Armored Practice takes place every Wednesday, weather permitting, from 6:30-9:00pm at 26 Richland Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22406. Contact Thorgrimr Kraka for more information: thorgrimrsca@gmail.com

Arts & Sciences

The Baronial A&S class schedule for 2025 has been posted and members of the Canton are encouraged to participate. Please take a look!

Dance and board games get-togethers are currently on hold while the library theater space is unavailable. The next scheduled Dance night is Tuesday April 22nd from 6-8pm.
