Canton updates for January 2026

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone’s year is off to a good start. The Canton started the year with European Dance practice on Tuesday Jan 6th. We held our monthly business meeting on the 20th. The next meeting will be Tuesday February 17th at 7pm. You can find the notes on the Documents page.

Canton Activities

Fencing practice is back at UMW now that the semester is started, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have some upcoming A&S activities as well:

• Tuesday January 27th: Basic Kumihimo class with Lord Jasper at the Fredericksburg Library, meeting room 1, 5:30-8pm
• Tuesday February 3rd: Renaissance Dance class with Magnifica Helena, at the Fredericksburg Library, theater room, 6-8pm
• Tuesday February 24th: Paleolithic currency in North America with Ari of the Long Marshes, at the Fredericksburg Library, meeting room 4, 6-8pm

Defending the Gate

The Canton will host Defending the Gate at the Izaak Walton League on March 27th. Look for more details in this space soon!
