It’s almost Defending the Gate time!

Greetings Canton!

In less than two weeks it will be time to defend the gates of Sudentorre! Come join us at the Izaak Walton League in Spotsylvania on March 28th for a day filled with mercenary-themed fun! Volunteers

We do still need some help with the event!

On Saturday, the day of the event, our MOLs and Parking Reeve could use assistance. We do not currently have a Hall Steward – if anyone would care to step up take this job from your Event Steward & her Deputy, that would be greatly appreciated! We can also use general gofer help throughout the day to make sure that water and food are making it out to the list fields and archery/thrown weapons ranges.

Set Up / Tear Down: Set up will start at noon on Friday. We need help with unloading and building the gate. We will also be setting up the main hall, royal room, kitchen space, list fields and tents on Friday. Tear down will start at 8am on Sunday. We need to have everything packed away and off site by noon! We could use any help, even if you can only come out for an hour.

Future Activities

After Defending the Gate we have the following Arts & Sciences activities scheduled:

• March 31: European Renaissance Dance Practice with Magnifica Helena in the theater
• April 7: Introduction to Kumihimo with Jasper of Hartshorn-dale in meeting room 4 (upstairs)
• April 14: European Renaissance Dance Practice with Magnifica Helena in the theater

Rapier practices continue at the University of Mary Washington on Tuesdays and Thursday starting at 8pm until the end of the college semester in May.
