Hello, Canton! We are back from Pennsic and we have lots of upcoming activities and events for you.

Business Meeting

Here are the notes from tonight’s meeting – Sudentorre Business Meeting August 18 2026

Upcoming Practices and Classes

Renaissance Dance practice takes place at the Fredericksburg Library one Tuesday per month from 6-8pm in the Theater Room. No prior knowledge of historical dance (or any dance) is required – just bring yourself and comfortable clothes/shoes you can walk in. Our upcoming practice dates are August 25, September 22, October 24, November 3, and December 1.

Arts & Sciences at the Library classes take place at the Fredericksburg Library one Tuesday per month from 6-8pm in a meeting room – all of our fall meetings will be in Room 1 on the basement/first floor. Generally materials are provided for classes by the Canton. More details can be found in the calendar entries.

  • September 1 – Canadian ice mummy talk by Ari
  • October 27 – Naalbinding hats class with Erika
  • November 24 – Embroidery Gathering led by Ragna (bring your project to craft together and get help)

Fencing Practice takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the UMW Auxiliary Gym (Anderson Center, Alvey Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) from 8-10pm.

  • September 19th & 20th: Atlantian University: classes can be submitted until August 23rd
  • September 26th: Dogmart Demo: We share information on the history of dogs and participate in a dog trade reenactment at this demo at the Izaak Walton League. We welcome people to join us for this, although we know many will be at Stierbach Baronial Birthday that day.
  • October 17th: Adventure Brewing Ren Faire: We generally demonstrate dancing, fencing and arts & sciences at this small festival.
